PRAGMATIC
Pragmatic was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. His first encounters with music involved playing drums on oatmeal containers and eventually led to playing violin, guitar, and even joining his church's drumline and praise team. By the age of 15 he was incorporating his written poetry with Hip Hop instrumentals and began developing his lyricism and flow in the light of Earl Sweatshirt, Isaiah Rashad, Vic Mensa, and Mac Miller just to name a few pivotal influences. Over the years he would write and freestyle with friends until he formed the rap group TG3, formerly NXT LVL, as a student at Davidson College. Today he is constantly stretching the instrument of his voice to pioneer new musical styles while creating content that seeks to encourage, uplift, and defy negative tropes of Black Hip Hop Culture.
BRIAN MONTOYA
Brian was born and raised in Hackensack, NJ until he was 14 years old and moved to Charlotte, NC. He started playing drums on buckets because the school he attended couldn’t afford real drums. When he was 16, he met a friend at the time who played guitar. Once Brian Played for the first time, he was hooked! He brought his first guitar for 20$ from another friend and taught himself how to play, with the help of Youtube. Later in life, after failing in a rock band, he learned how to produce with the help of his brother and has been creating and learning ever since. His influences can be found all over the music spectrum from Rock artists like ACDC, to Spanish music like Elvis Crespo, to Hip Hop like Kanye West and much more!
